Explain Cancer Lung

cancer Lung is the famous cancer in the world, this kind of cancer

is the first responsible of death in all the countrys .

 Cancer Lung

there are two kind of lung cancer :

* Lung cancer - non small cell

Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) is the most common type of lung cancer, making up 80-85% of all cases. It typically grows and spreads more slowly than small cell lung cancer (SCLC). NSCLC is staged based on the size of the primary tumor and if and where the cancer has spread (stages I, II, III, IV). See Staging for more information.  Some lung cancer tumors are composed of cells from more than one type of NSCLC.

There are different kinds of NSCLC but the most commonly diagnosed are:

                         - Adenocarcinoma
                         - Squamous cell carcinoma
                         - Large cell carcinoma
                         - Large cell neuroendocrine tumors

Causes of cancer lung :
smoking is the major cause, although some people diagnosed with lung cancer have never smoked. Occupational exposures to asbestos, radon, hydrocarbons and metals (e.g. chromium, nickel) are also associated with lung cancer.

Lung Cancer Treatment:

For little tumors surgery alone can be corrective ,For operable tumours with spread to the lymph nodes, chemotherapy in addition to surgery can improve the outcome. In cancer confined to the chest, but thought to be inoperable, chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy can be used. For widespread disease, chemotherapy doublets such as cisplatin with vinorelbine, or gemcitabine or paclitaxel with carboplatin, can be used.
Second line chemotherapy with docetaxel or pemetrexed can induce a further response after relapse in patients who maintain a good performance level.

Lung cancer - small cell

It is a type of neuroendocrine tumor with cells that are smaller in size than most other cancer cells. It is a fast-growing cancer that spreads rapidly to other parts of the body.  Some lung cancer tumors contain cells that are both SCLC and a form of NSCLC, often large cell.  SCLC is usually staged as either limited or extensive, depending on if, and where, the cancer has spread.

Restricted sickness is treated with mix hemotherapy, Radiotherapy to the chest is given with the early doses of chemotherapy.
Response rates (shrinkage by at least a half) are seen in up to 90% of patients and complete response rates (no visible tumour left) in up to 75% of patients are achieved. Patients who have a complete response can be treated with radiotherapy to the brain to prevent relapse in the brain.
